How it works
Lip Fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid gel, which is a substance that is naturally found in our bodies. With the right technique, the hyaluronic acid gel can be injected into the lips to add volume, improve asymmetry, add balance to the lower face or simply hydrate the lips. Once the filler is injected inside the lips you will be able to see the results immediately, however it's common to experience mild swelling and bruising which can hide the true result. The filler will then typically take around 2 weeks to fully settle, and it will last between 6-18 months depending on the type of filler and brand selected.

The consultation
During the consultation, our medical injectors will discuss your main concerns, assess your lips and help you select the right filler for you.

The Marking
Our medical injector will mark out the areas of injections and highlight any asymmetry or areas that require corrections.

Numbing and Cleaning the Skin
A layer of numbing cream is applied over the area and allowed to rest for 10 minutes. Following that, the area is cleaned with a gentle alcohol solution to ensure a hygienic and safe service.

Injecting the Filler
The filler is then injected into the area of treatment using a very thin and tiny needle. Most clients will feel a small pinch as the needle goes in, however our fillers contain lidocaine and they will continue to numb the area during the treatment. Making the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Immediate Results
You will be able to see the results right after the procedure, however this is not the true result as it often comes with a lot of swelling. Before leaving our clinic we will provide you with a small ice-pack to treat the swelling and a healing lip balm to keep your lips moisturised.

Healing Process
The day after is typically the worst day, as the swelling will be at its peak and you will most likely have some bruising too. At this stage it's important to use the ice-pack and healing lip balm that we provide for you to aid recovery. By day 2, the swelling and bruising will start to heal and the bulk of it will be gone by day 7.

Fully Healed Result
The fully healed results can be seen 2 weeks after the appointment. At this stage, all the swelling and bruising would have been resolved and you can enjoy your plump lips for the months to come!

Can Dermal Fillers be dissolved?
Yes, hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called Hyaluronidase if needed, allowing adjustments or reversals.
Before your Appointment: Things you should know
To ensure the best results and minimize the risk of bruising or swelling, it's important to prepare properly for your dermal filler appointment. Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours before your treatment, as these can increase the likelihood of bruising. Refrain from taking herbal supplements that thin the blood, such as vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and fish oil. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any medical conditions or are on medications that could affect the treatment, please inform us in advance. On the day of your appointment, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin to help maintain a sterile environment and ensure the best possible experience. Proper preparation helps promote smoother healing and enhances the overall results of your treatment.
After your Appointment: Things you should know
Following your dermal filler treatment, it’s normal to experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. These effects usually fade within a few days. To help the filler settle properly, avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours. Stay upright for at least 4 hours post-treatment and refrain from intense exercise, sweating, or strenuous activity for 24-48 hours. It's also important to avoid alcohol, blood-thinning medications, and direct heat or sunlight (including saunas) during this period to reduce the risk of swelling or irritation. While you’ll notice immediate improvements, the full results will settle and refine within about a week. Following these aftercare steps will help ensure a smooth recovery and enhance the longevity of your results.
Can I have dermal fillers under the age of 18 years with parental consent?
No, unfortunately we do not accept any form of parental consent for dermal filler injections. All clients must be over the age of 18 years, and have a valid identification card present during the appointment.
